Oxana Shilova was born in Russia. In 2000 she graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire, having become a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers in 1999. Joined the Mariinsky Opera Company in 2007.

Oxana Shilova is a gifted singing actress highly acclaimed for her magnificent voice, outstanding technique, intelligent musicianship, and dazzling dramatic talent. She is the leading soprano soloist of the Mariinsky Theater and has collaborated with Valery Gergiev, Placido Domingo, Pablo Heras-Casado, Gianandrea Noseda, Vladimir Fedoseev, Vasily Petrenko, Tugan Sokhiev, Mickhael Güttler, Nikolay Znaider, Constantine Orbelian, Mikhail Tatarnikov, Fabio Mastrangelo, Yuri Bashmet, Mikhail Agrest, Alexandr Titov, Charles Roubaud, Alain Maratrat, Francesca Zambello, Stephen Lawless, Michael Mayer, Isabella Bywater, Claudia Solti, Andrea De Rosa and Vasily Barkhatov.
Oxana has performed on the international stages including the Palau de les arts Reina Sofia, the Dallas Opera, the Bergen National Opera, the Opéra de Lyon, the De Nederlandse Opera and Reims, Montpelier, Avignon, Bordeaux, Toulouse and Marseilles. She is a regular participant at international festivals with highlights including the Music Festival Stars of the White Nights (2008-2018), the Moscow Easter Festival (2013), summer festivals in Baden-Baden (2016), Edinburgh (2016), Baltic Sea festival (2017), Ljubljana festival (2018).
Her signature roles include Violetta La Traviata at the best Russian theaters including Bolshoi and Mariinsky (in July 2018 she had an outstanding performance of Violetta with Plácido Domingo as Giorgio Germont under the baton of Valery Gergiev at the Stars of the White Nights International Arts festival); Madame Cortese Il viaggio a Reims (Opéra de Toulon, Opéra National de Lorraine, Opéra de Marseille, Théâtre du Capitole, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Opéra -Théâtre de Metz Métropole, Opéra National de Montpellier, Centre Lyrique Clermont-Auvergne, Opéra de Massy, Opéra Grand Avignon, Opéra de Reims); Mrs. Alice Ford Falstaff (in May 2018 she made a dazzling appearance as Mrs. Alice Ford at Mariinsky at the premiere of new production of Andrea De Rosa, conductor - Valery Gergiev).
Oxana Shilova is performing regularly on the concert stage in recitals and vocal performances in Russia and abroad. She has a vast concert repertoire including Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate, Haydn’s Creation, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Stravinsky’s Les Noces. She has toured in Belgium, Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Slovakia, Finland, France, USA and Argentina. Additionally, she has appeared in recitals with romances of Debussy, Chausson, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Rachmaninov, and Medtner. In May 2016 she opened the festival «St. Petersburg Palaces» at the Hermitage Museum with Stephen Costello and Constantine Orbelian. Also in May she performed with Anna Netrebko and Ildar Abdrazakov at the festive concert Classic Gala on Palace Square in St. Petersburg.
During the upcoming season 2019/2020 Oxana will sing Violetta at the Mariinsky and Bolshoi Theater, Mrs. Alice Ford (Falstaff), Madame Cortese (Il Viaggio a Reims), Helena (The Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) at her home stage in St. Petersburg. Other roles in her repertoire include Elvira (I puritani), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Norma, Anna Bolena, Countess Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Leila (Les Pêcheurs de Perles), Manon (Massenet), Nedda (I Pagliacci), Iolanta, Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) and Marguerite (Faust).
Her future engagements include debut as Violetta at the Teatr Wielki Opera Narodowa, solo recital at the Bergen National Opera and concert with Plácido Domingo in Moscow.
Oxana Shilova was born in the city of Almalyk, Tashkent region of the Soviet republic of Uzbekistan. Her parents were both Honored Teachers of Russia. Her farther was also singer-songwriter and had recorded an album. Her first musical teacher Ekaterina Goncharova took Oxana to her brother Evgeny Fedotov, one of the soloists of the Kirov Theatre in St. Petersburg. Carefully following his advice, Oxana became a student of the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College where she met her longtime teacher Mariana Petrova, a lyric coloratura soprano of the Mussorgsky opera and ballet theatre. Thereafter Oxana continued her education at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory entering with the highest grades. At the 3d year of studies she joined the Young Singers Academy of the Mariinsky Theatre. As a member of the Studio at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, she had her first stage experiences as Belinda in Purcell’s Didon et Enée, Barbarina, Suzanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. On the Mariinsky stage she made her first appearance as Despina in Cosi fan tutte by Mozart.
Oxana has participated in master classes with Joan Sutherland, Elena Obrazstova, Mirella Freni, Renata Scotto, Ileana Cotrubas and Placido Domingo. She is the winner of numerous international music competitions, including Stanislaw Moniuszko International Competition in 2007.
