Opera Mikhailovsky Opera star Nina Romanova Recital
Mikhailovsky Classical Ballet and Opera Theatre (established 1833)

Schedule for Mikhailovsky Opera star Nina Romanova Recital 2022

Mezzo soprano: Nina Romanova

Orchestra: Mikhailovsky Symphony Orchestra

Nina Romanova has always been called "the absolute treasure of the theatre".

Nina Romanova graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory.
Since 1976 — for 30 years already! — she has worked at the Moussorgsky – Mikhailovsky Theatre.

Her repertory is unusually wide. She has performed the parts of Carmen by George Bizet, Olga in Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Lyubasha in The Tsar’s Bride by Nikolay Rimsky Korsakov, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia by Gioacchino Rossini, Eboli in Don Carlos by Giuseppe Verdi — more than forty parts in all performed at the Mikhailovsky Theatre, as well as in theatres in Amsterdam, Brussels and Nantes.

Fine vocalization and subtle nuance are part of her gift. Her noble manner stresses the originality and drama of the role.

She is peerless at concert singing where she has performed symphonies by Gustav Mahler and oratorios by George Frideric Handel, among others.

For her gala performance Nina Romanova has invited singers of the Mikhailovsky Opera Nikolay Kopylov and Roman Burdenko and conductor Pavel Bubelnikov.
