Cédric Meckler (Organist)

Since 2006, the Vernet-Meckler Organ Duet has dazzled audiences across the world promoting the novel repertoire of four-hand music for the organ through brilliant performances and over numerous acclaimed recordings (Diapason d’Or, Choc du Monde de la Musique, 5/5 Hifi-Video, Maestro Pianiste, 6/6 PianoNews, Fono Forum, Luxemburger Wort, American record Guide…), regularly broadcasted in Europe and USA (France Musique, Europe 1, France Inter, Radio Classique, RCF, RTBF, RAI, American Public Media,…). In addition to its concert activity (for example in Festival du Comminges, International Organ Festival of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Festival Les Riches Heures de la Réole, Festival du Printemps des Orgues in Angers, International Organ Festival of Saint-Louis-des-français à Rome, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Salle Philharmonique in Liège, Auditorium Maurice Ravel in Lyon, International Organ Festival of Andorre, International Organ Festival of Poblet, Avignon Festival, International Organ Festival of Monaco, Philharmonie de Paris, Festival Pablo Casals…), Vernet-Meckler Organ Duet devotes a large part of its activity to searching and developing organ duet repertoire. Some composers have dedicated pieces especially for them (Julien Bret, Pierre Cholley, Rafihavana Ratovondrahety, Tal Zilber, Philip Robert Buttal, John Carmichael, Charles Balayer, Narcís Bonet, Hervé Lesvenan, Gunnar Idenstam...).

Olivier Vernet has studied with Gaston Litaize, Marie-Claire Alain, and Michel Chapuis in the class and has always been awarded many prizes and distinctions. To date, Olivier Vernet has recorded 110 CDs, which have received countless awards as well. The artistic director of the Monaco International Organ Festival is also the title organist of the Cathedral of Monaco and Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de l'Ordre monégasque du Mérite Culturel.

Cédric Meckler is holder of a doctorate in Medicine (MD) and in Neurosciences (PhD), and was a medical officer, holding the rank of colonel. In his work he dealt with the mental illness Schumann and with cerebral activity related to control of musical motor activities. As a researcher and hypnotherapist until 2017, he has used his research and publications to offer a new reading grid of reference methods for piano technique and has since explored the field of non-ordinary states of consciousness (hypnosis, meditation, lucid dreaming) that he uses for artistic help, including preparation for the stage.
