Debut
From the 19nd to the 21th November 2010, the Mikhailovsky Theatre Grand
Prix — an annual showcase of students from Russia’s leading
ballet schools — will take place for the second time.
The
charity project first took place in 2009 and its main feature was the fact
that money prizes were given not only to the winners but also to the
schools that raised them: the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, the
Moscow Ballet Academy, and the Novosibirsk Ballet School.
In autumn
2010 the young students of the greatest ballet schools of Russia will
appear on the Mikhailovsky stage to show the results of hard
toil — both theirs and their teachers’. The Artistic Council of the contest
will be led by the ballet master of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, professor Nikita
Dolgushin.
The Mikhailovsky Theatre expresses its gratitude
to Mr Toshihiko Takahashi for constant support of the projects
of the Mikhailovsky Theatre and the great contribution to the
Mikhailovsky Grand Prix prize fund.

The Charity Project From the 19nd to the 21th November 2010, the
Mikhailovsky Theatre Grand Prix — an annual showcase of students
from Russia’s leading ballet schools — will take place for the second time.
This charitable project organized by the Mikhailovsky Theatre first
took place in 2009. The main peculiarity of the Grand Prix was that
the cash prizes were awarded not only to the winners, but also to the
schools participating in the contest — the Vaganova Academy
of Russian Ballet, The Bolshoi Ballet Academy, and the Novosibirsk State
Choreographic College.
This autumn, the young pupils of Russia’s
leading ballet schools will take to the stage of the Mikhailovsky
Theatre once more to show the fruits of both their and their tutors’
labours.
The jury will be led by the world renowned
choreographer Roland Petit. In the framework of the Grand Prix two
one-act ballets by Jiri Kylian La Petite mort and Six
Dances will be premiered by the Ballet Company of the Moscow
Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre.
