Grand Prix of the Mikhailovsky Theatre

Ballet is rightfully considered to be a national treasure of Russia. Great choreographers, composers, outstanding ballet dancers, known to everybody, hugely contributed to the history of Russian ballet. The key role in upbringing of dancers, however, is played by those who are less familiar to common public, ballet tutors. The Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, the Moscow Ballet Academy, the Novosibirsk Ballet Schools played major role in establishing and supporting the art of ballet. Grand Prix of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, on the one hand, is a competition of the students of ballet schools; on the other hand, it is an initiative aimed at supporting the pedagogical staff of the leading ballet schools in Russia.
On October, 24 the Mikhailovsky Theatre is to host a Gala of the world ballet stars, who will congratulate the winners of the youth competition.
The program of the project is to include the famous ballet by Asaf Messerer Class Concert, performed by the Bolshoi Ballet Company.
