Daniele Rustioni was born in Milan in 1983. He obtained his diploma degrees with highest marks in piano, organ, composition and orchestral conducting at the Conservatory named after Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. He attended postgraduate conducting courses at the Accademia Superiore Musicale in Pescara with Gilberto Serembe, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena with Gianluigi Gelmetti, and the Royal Academy of Music in London with Colin Metters, Mark Shanahan, George Hurst and Sir Colin Davis.
Furthermore he attended as a fellow student important orchestral conducting masterclasses with Leif Segerstam and Gianandrea Noseda. His musical education is characterised also by operatic repertoire studies at the Teatro alla Scala Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, postgraduate coach/accompanist course.

In 2002 he was invited as the best young organist in Milan by the Polifonica Ambrosiana Choir to play several concerts as a soloist and choir conductor. In the following years he worked as an accompanist and assistant for the Salieri Orchestra in Mantua, and the Teatro alla Scala Academy in Milan (playing for Lejla Gencer, Renata Scotto, Renato Bruson, Luigi Alva and Edoardo Muller voice classes and masterclasses).

In 2004 he gained a merit scholarship from Teatro alla Scala Academy and he had the opportunity to work in two official operatic seasons of the prestigious theatre in Milan as a repetiteur and assistant conductor in important productions like: Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Ascanio in Alba, Nozze di Figaro, Ariadne auf Naxos, Boheme, Rigoletto, Otello. He was also Gianluigi Gelmetti’s assistant at Rome Opera House (Tristan und Isolde, Cosi’ fan tutte, Traviata), and Gianandrea Noseda’s assistant at his Festival Settimane Musicali in Stresa (Clemenza di Tito).
